The Dolphin Nebula

I have been intrigued by this object since I first saw it a few years ago.
Since then its been a popular target whereas before it was rare.

My second imaging of this object.

AstroPhysics Riccardi Honders astrograph (305mm F3.8).
PME mount, QHY 600M camera, MOAG guiding with a ZWO guide camera.

Taken at my home observatory in Sussex Inlet over several nights. Good seeing as is typical here (only occassionally is seeing average).

6 hours and 10 mins O111 Ha RGB.

Thanks Paul.

It took me several goes at processing to get a result that I liked.

If you are referring to your 2016 effort with the 694 chip, yep, this latest version is much better

It's a must do object for sure.

Yes that's the one. When I did that earlier one it was already really too low in the sky.

Your FSQ widefield version is a standout for me. I'll image it again another time with the 110GTX.

It's a pretty wild object with surprisingly sharp boundaries.

Thanks Peter.

It's quite bright in O111 but there are a couple of really bright stars that need to be kept in check.

It's a very hard nebula to process!

Beautiful results in the end, Greg

really beautiful take on a pretty tough target. That superb scope of yours just sucks up those rare photons I bet. I had trouble getting a useable image at f7.2 from several nights' observations

Thanks Franco.

The super sensitive QHY600m plus the F3.8 12 inch AP scope do mean I get a lot quickly. This can be vital when I am away at my dark site where time and weather are limited.

Greg.
