Rugging up
Currently 2 degrees.
Heading for -4 overnight.
And it's only the third week of winter!
Be nice to have that 'cold' 23-degree Darwin day

1:02 am and the cloud has come in and melted all the ice!!! Still a bit on the cubby observatory roof, but the scope has thawed out
But I had a great night doing visual observing thru the 12" dob
Even checked out heaps of Galaxies with the Pentax XW7 !!!!! Man, it makes them big! Faint, but BIG! NGC4945 looks spectacular in the XW7, I couldn't even fit it all in the FOV

Hi Matt, nothing like a fresh Canberra morning is there.
Apparently there is more of the same tonight.
Cheers

Hi Ric
Yep. Just checked the forecast.
Another -4 on the way tonight and then -3 or -2 for the next few nights after.
A pretty good frost when I got up this morning.

Poor Matt. It hurts when to defrost your fingers on nights like that.
We only get a handful of nights like that here in winter, kind of makes it novel.

Yep, I had a nice ride into work on the motorbike and I'm definitely wide awake by the time I arrive.

Hi jjj
I actually don't mind the cold, too much. I guess I'm sorta used to it
At least there are no mozzies!!
And it looks great seeing everyone puffed up in their winter coats, looking like the Michelin man

It's currently 3 degrees and dropping nicely down here. We are expecting another -3 again tonight.
Should be a good one even with half a Moon hanging around.

Minus 2.4 here at the moment, Ric
Just packed up from a Jupiter imaging session.
No good, unfortunately. Such is winter.

That's a bit of a bummer Matt, I've noticed that there is a bit of smoke haze about tonight.
Hope you get a better one tomorrow.

1 degree here. I don't think we will get below zero tonight coz of cloud cover.

my eldest went down to work the snow season earlier in the week
a couple weeks into winter and they have had more snow than the whole season last year.. with more heavy falls last night.
