Headphone Antenna's

OK, I've done a bunch of Google searching and haven't come up with the answer to this... I figure it's generic enough that I ask it here....

My Zen media player is one of these devices that uses the plugged in headphone cable as an FM antenna. In my case that's never enough - I need a bigger antenna! (work underground and live in the sticks)

Does anyone know if there is a type of headphone/device that allows for plugging in an external antenna that is larger? or has a more powerful one or booseter built in? Would it work to plug on a headphone "double adaptor", then have the headphones in one socket and an antenna in the second socket?? (antenna wire soldered to a male headphone plug)?

Ideas?

Seems odd that I can't find an off-the-shelf solution! Not even on eBay!
