First Gen Orion 14" Truss GoTo (Push-To) - Conditional (See Text)
Background:
So when Orion first bought out these XX14g Intelliscope Truss Tube Dobsonians they had some issues with the go-to drive system. I can't recall when I bought the scope, but it was when they were first released. As such, after a goodly amount of use, my one stopped driving in AZ mode (the newer versions have a pumped up drive system). So my plan was to attach an Argo Navis and then rebuild the base and drive the system with a ServoCat of some sort. Well I have the Agro Navis and the scope works really well as a push-to scope, the optics are supreme and everything (other than the go-to) functions well.
Unfortunately I developed a slight back issue and packing/unpacking this guy is too hard (I have downgraded to a 12" StarWatcher which is actually still a bit awkward for me to get set up), I also fell out of visual astronomy so didn't finish off the servocat project. With moving to Melbourne and living in the suburbs I don't get much visual observing in these past 5 years.
The scope has lived in the garage, nice and dry, in it's padded cases. It's got some signs of wear and tear but the optics are super clean and the focusser is smooth.
So the condition really is that if someone wants it, they can have it, but they'll have to come pick it up. I am in the outer eastern suburbs. I've tried offering it as a donor scope to some local clubs but no one seems interested and I'm loathe to just turf it or deal with facebook marketplace tyre kickers.
It comes with the original Instruction Manual, a printout of the ArgoNavis Manual, ArgoNavis + Cables, Eyepeice mount, Base Spacers, a 2" 35mm Orion Deepview Eyepeice, and Truss Shroud.
Pickup Only!I can't stress this enough, I'm not going to try and pack it into my car or post it. Location Outer Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Ringwood-ish. Price Basically free if you want to come pick it up, I want it to go to a home where it'll get used.
