Blue Horse Head IC4592

GDay all.
Blue Horse Head taken from my backyard from 6 Aug 24 - 8 Sep 24. Took a while to process due to weather and my PI limited skills. Was never to happy when I processed the image as it always looked dull. I had a tad of drama trying to get some colours out of my subs. Talking on Discord about astrophotography I was given some tips using Pixinsight by a young high school student named Merlin from Melb. I gave him my mono data and he went to town on it and I basically copied his colours with some of his PI tips. His PI skills are way better than mine.

Thanks for having a look.

You weren't horsing around when you took the bit between your teeth and reined in those photons! Very nice result indeed Steve.

Steve this is wonderful! Fantastic fine detail in the wispy nebulosity and the subtle colour variations are just stunning. Well framed too. A very successful collaboration and look forward to your upcoming posts with some new PI skills in play. Great worK!!

You should be very happy with that on Steve. Your effort in chasing down a good PI processing workflow have clearly paid off

Incredible image Steve.
I'm a big fan of this target, and hope to get to it one year so many good things to image around that time of year!

Well done - I know how dim the blue horse is!

Paul Alex. Thanks for the thumbs up.
Correct Alex, so many to choose from. My problem this year has been the weather...great days and poor nights on the south coast. Cant get get enough subs for each filter. Im sure you will get that nag next year

You've been getting great days?
That's where solar imaging is smart I think, we don't even get great days up the mountains very much for the past 3 or 4 years. Though often after a very cloudy evening I've noticed beautiful clear skies on some of my run to the mens room through the night after deciding it wasn't even worth taking anything out earlier, not even a camera.
Now it's cold and wet in Lithgow but the temperature change is very welcome.

The nebulosity reminds me of "fine cotton" wool.
