Reducing nose piece OD by tiny amount

Hi all

I have an anodized 1.25” (measured 31.80mm) nose piece adapter. It’s anodized aluminium. Unfortunately it’s not fitting into my baader click lock (luck of the draw with click lock slightly narrower ID and the APM adapter slightly on larger size). I need to remove 0.05mm.

Being anodized, What is best way of doing it apart from re-machining and anodizing. Sandpaper? Unsure what grit? I just want to go slowly as I think I’m very close so minimise damage to the anodised surface.

APM telling me it’s to spec and it’s my problem/Baader. I checked with Baader and the person I spoke to has one and it fits all the click locks they have. Same with a person on CN. seems mine is out of spec.

Many thanks.

Maybe it is slightly out of round.
If you are not too far from St Kilda East, you can drop in with it and I lap it with diamond paste while you wait. No charge.

Just an update to anyone who is interested. I caught up with Stefan who graciously assisted me with the matter. Using a micrometer, we found out that the adapter was 0.04mm out of round. It needed lapping with diamond paste to finally fit. In the end it wasn't a Male OD, Female ID issue s I originally thought. You can see it from the high/low spots on the anodization.

It's a long way to return an item so if you are looking at purchasing one, please specify to them what your Female EP holder is (Baader click locks can be less forgiving but I have checked with Baader and by luck they had one which they tested on multiple click locks and all fitted).
