Zenit E 35mm camera in reasonable condition
A stab in the dark, I'm trying to get my hands on an old Russian made Zenit E camera body if anyone has one they'd consider parting with.
It's only to sit in my collection but age appropriate condition would be a bonus.
Produced from 65 till 86 it would be an early 80s unit I'm after if there were differences (I haven't looked into them much).
EDIT:
I'm trying to replace a partial unit I have with several bits of mechanism missing from underneath and a broken shutter curtain (or a bits unit I could potentially complete my old thing). The original has "ZENIT" in English not the Russian version of writing and a little research shows me it's a 1980 model I have in pieces, apparently the first 2 numbers of the serial number indicate the year of manufacture.
I'd like to play with the old 35mm unit on a telescope. I have many other brands of 35mm bodies but the complex electronics chew batteries, the more simplistic items are more suitable to long exposure (I know what everyone is thinking "WHY?")
Thanks!
Leo

Hi Leo,
Do you have the lens with your Zenit E? I might know someone with a body.
Best

Thanks JA!
Yes, I have a 50mm lens but I'd be very interested in the camera if it's the right one.
I believe the lens is the same 50mm screw on unit as used on the praktica (or pentax), not even sure if I have a Praktica here.
Speaking of lenses, I have a Sony screw mount lens from an older 35mm I was given, it didn't fit my Mamiya ZEX or my Asahi Pentax sportmatic F and research showed it to be for a Sony (from memory) if you know anyone who may like it for their collection. It's free, they pay postage. I'll post more details about it when I remember where I put the lens. It seems to have a lot of electronics and fits nothing I have, I'd rather it go to someone who may appreciate it even if only to sit on display with a collection. While appearing in nice condition I can not guarantee whether it's in working condition with nothing it fits to check it.
Now off to find where I hid it then get to bed before my sleeping meds wear off.

Found an EM in the back of the cupboard.
Is that the one you're after?

An E or EM would be fine Chris.
