30th June Sun in Ha

Hi

Unfortunately mostly clouds and rain here in Melbourne today.
A short break in the conditions revealed the sun on & off for 20 minutes or so.

In that time I managed about 10 scans over the sun with my ED100 f/9 scope and spectroheliograph set at Ha wavelength.

I picked the best 7 frames reconstructed with Doug Smith's SHG Main software using AutoStakkert3!

Deconvolution was then done using Astrosurface.

Had a few issues with my mount slewing at inconsistent speeds while acquiring data. Have put this down to poor balance.

Attached is a reduced and compressed frame of the resulting image.

Cheers
Maurice

Thanks for sharing Maurice, glad someone is getting some sunshine, we seem to be in for another week of cloud and rain around here. Lovely image again, love the detail in the filaments and around the active areas.
