Thumbs down Anyone use WcRmac eprom upgrade - Toucam

Hi again everyone,
Only just recently got a toucam to play with and done some quick research on the net and came across WcRmac software to upgrade the toucam eprom to allow raw and noraw video streams..
Looks very interesting and might help sqeeze that extra bit of information out of your data..
Has anyone tried this and does it make a difference?
Here`s a link to the page.....

and this page has more info......

I was basically looking for how to set camera defaults so that it will keep your settings all the time but with no luck..
cheers....

Have you tried WcCtrl in conjunction with K3CCD? It retains the settings from previous sessions and allows you to save and load settings for different imaging scenarios. It also enables you to change settings on the fly while you are imaging.

I used the colour raw rom upgrade when I used the ToUcam. It wasn't a huge difference but I think there was some difference.

WcCtrl is the one, but remember to get your raww mode happening, you must restore default settings or is it load factory settings.

qfocus and the later versions of k3ccd allow previewing of raw mode in colour.

at the end of the day optimised colour @ 10 fps was the overall winner for me..... not enough great seeing to warrant 5fps in full raw mode

Thanks Graeme, went to download Wcctrl only to find a copy already in my download folder...must have downloaded some time back and forgotten..lol
Thanks Mike and David for that advice, I shall have a play with it all over the next few weeks. I will primarally use it for guiding but would like to have a go at planetary imaging even though my scope isn`t really made for that..
cheers Gary
