Returning to the Stars

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I have posted here, but I'm back!

Got myself a new ZWO Seestar S50 smart telescope recently and I am loving it so far. I tested it out on IC 2944 (running chicken nebula) and it turned out pretty decent. This shot focusing on NGC 1910 and the surrounding star clusters (in the LMC) I think has come out quite good for an inexperienced user of Siril and Photoshop.

This image is about 45 mins worth of 10 sec subs, from my backyard in Canberra (bortle 5). I think the built-in LP filter did a decent job, but more experimenting is needed.

I will be venturing out to darker skies more often as I get more skilled in post-processing and become more familiar with the S50's strengths and weaknesses.

I wonder what kinds of spectacular images I could get from a dark-sky site at an altitude of 1450m ASL?

Comments, and feedback are welcome.

-Alex
