For sale is a Rowan belt modded EQ6 Pro. While the mount is quite old the motor control board was replaced and RA and DEC backlash adjusted by Skywatcher Australia in 2020.
Much more recently the mount was belt modded by Testar (Adriano did the mod himself) and the mount runs really smoothly ever since. (That’s close to a thousand dollars in upgrades over the last three years).
Guiding is generally sub one arc second. Last night it was running between 0.49 to 0.6. It could probably be improved but the resolution of my imaging system doesn’t need better guiding so I haven’t run PHD2 assistant for a long time.
Included are two counterweights, hand controller and power cable. Also a mounting plate for a Polemaster.
Also included is an EQDIR cable so you can control the mount with NINA or an ASIAIR. GPUSB unit is included but I haven’t used it for years. Also ST4 cables ..again not really used or required with the EQ Direct cable.
Why am I selling? The mount is getting too heavy for me to carry in and out of the house each clear night. My scopes are small and I don’t need a big beefy mount. ( I have purchased an AM3 which is adequate for my needs).
Cosmetics: this is a used mount ! So there are plenty of signs of having been used. None of which affect mount performance. Works fine I used it last night.
There are Velcro strips on the mount, (used to support accessories such as a Kendrick dew heater controller, or an ASIAIR or the power supply for an QHY 8 etc). There are also marks and signs of use, and some permanent marker markings .
