Celestron CPC fork and wedge widefield mount rig -reduced
For sale. Celestron CPC Goto fork mount with Celestron heavy duty wedge, set up/adapted for widefield imaging. In good working condition, with some paint scratches and minor corrosion of steel components. The fork came off a de-forked C11 SCT telescope, so it can carry a heavy load. I machined an aluminium saddle bed using 12mm plate, which is snug fitted and bolted to the Dec axis (this saddle plate can be easily removed if needed). It is intended to carry over and under telephoto camera rigs, possibly with multiple cameras (for example), a bit like some of the patrol cameras from the 1970s & 80s.
Would suit a permanent pier under a dark sky. The fork setup enables tracking all night through the meridian and goto makes pointing cameras a breeze. Adapting a polar alignment camera to the wedge makes polar alignment easy. This is a very heavy set up and would be expensive to ship, so pick up is preferred. I am prepared to ship via Pack &Send at buyers expense.
Comes with 2 hand controllers, 12v cable and 240v power pack. The Cassady dovetail saddle pictured is for illustration only (not for sale) - I had two of these dovetail saddles to hold large CCD cameras and lenses when I was testing the mount initially. I have not had the chance to use it under dark skies due to other commitments and I don't have anywhere to put this mount now, so it has to go. Thanks for looking.
