I finally had a few hours of clear skies last night (this morning?). I stuck my head out the door just before midnight and saw that the cloud had gone away. So not wanting to waste it, I finally had the opportunity to test out the new (to me) Tak FSQ-106ED properly.
I really only had one goal, Create a usable image in the time available, ~4.5 hour.s So my target needed to be bright.
Since first learning of the Rosette Nebula, It's been on my list.
I attempted this back in late 2019, and while it was OK, I've always wanted to revisit. My desire to revisit has only increased since learning that it is also known as the "Flaming Skull Nebula."
That is the aspect I am attempting to accentuate here.
Anyway, I am Incredibly impressed with how this turned out for only ~3.5hours of data.
See it big on AstroBin
Thanks for looking and Clear Skies!
