Smile 50 Min Andromeda Galaxy

After doing some testing and fixes on my system that went faster than I expected (blue filter issues), I thought I'd have a go at M31 as I'd never done it before. Which isn't surprising really, since it gets to a max of about 20 degrees above the horizon here. Last night it was closer to 10.

Anyway, I managed to get a grand total of 50 min of data: 60 sec subs, L x 13, R x 13, G x 12, B x 12. Given how low it the sky it was, it turned out much better than I was expecting.

...probably should get more data though.

Yeah, wack on another hour or so of it and it should come up a treat. Nice start though with some good detail coming through. 20 degrees, that's luxury, it doesn't get above 10 where I shoot it from.

Good one. And to think this massive galaxy is hurtling towards us!

Absolute Luxury!

Have to see what the conditions are like a bit later. Bit windy right now, so that extra data may have to wait.

It would be great to watch the interaction with the Milky Way, but I guess I'll have to settle for a simulation.

Thanks. It's always such a great galaxy to look at for details.
