PHD2 2.6.11 Dev6 Calibration Assistant

Another great feature of PHD2 for folk starting out in the hobby, a Calibration Assistant.
Anyone used this new feature yet ?
I might update and download the dev6 version as it’s seems pretty stable after 4 months release.
Unfortunately it’s not available when you launch PHD2 through your imaging app like Sharpcap or NINA and so on …..You must open and use PHD2 autonomously to take advantage of it. ( which is how I use it , the only part of my imaging app APT I use with PHD2 is dithering commands, that’s it )

I’m sure the huge number of posts on the PHD2 forum about folk struggling with calibration etc… has prompted Bruce to develop this new feature to help folk get underway and reduce the volume of repetitive simple errors which are a fact of life.
Another great “Push Here Dummy” feature

Well done PHD2 !!

It's great, been using it for a while. In fact I only accidentally noticed it when I was going to recalibrate one night.
It's just takes the scope the right area of sky and does its thing!! Great for dummies like me !!!!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the feedback
It’s a shame it doesn’t work via imaging software and probably the ASIAIR too. As most newbies I suspect don’t use standalone programs like I do. Most probably jump into ASIAIR’s with tablets and phones etc… for ease and portability.
I’m glad PHD2 has ongoing development from guys like Bruce and Andy plus others ….. us end users owe a lot to these guys. It just works and works well.
Cheers
Martin
