I have to reluctantly sell this fabulous telescope due to a terminal medical diagnosis; otherwise it would not be for sale.
There is only a hand full of LX600 16 f8 scopes in Australia; this is a rare opportunity to purchase one at under half the replacement cost. To import one from the USA would cost close to 20K. There are none available in the shops in Australia.
I bought it about 4 years ago and its been housed in a Sirius dome for that period. Its in excellent condition and has had a Moonlight motor focuser fitted as well as the collimation has been tweaked using a Hotec Laser Collimator.
For those who dont know the f8 series, the mirror slides on Crayford like ball bearings so you get almost no mirror flop and no focus lag as there is no grease on the baffle tube.
This scope has been fitted with a Moonlight Stepper motor, controlled by a Mini V2 controller. It is also fitted with a clutch so it can be manually focused as well.
This is a versatile instrument; I have used it at the following focal lengths-
LX600 16 3,251mm f8
LX600 16 with E. S. 0.7 Reducer 2275mm f5.6
LX600 16 with Astrophysics 0.67 Reducer 1658mm f4.08
LX600 16 Hyperstar 812.8mm f1.9

Hyperstar capability: I have made various adapters for different Hyperstars and they are included. See Photos. Yes you can successfully use a Celestron Hyperstar on a Meade. I have made adapters for other people and they are happy with the results. The C14 Hyperstar will be for sale separately.
Collimation: this scope has been collimated using a Hotec Laser collimator and is in perfect collimation. It has also been collimated for the Hyperstar, see the photos.
I also have a 2.5 inch Moonlight focuser with Mini V2 controller for the back of this scope and it will be for sale separately.
