Skywatcher AZ-EQ6 Pro GT

Skywatcher AZ-EQ6 Pro GT

Beautiful mount that can be used in EQ or AZ mode

Has had very little use, as I upgraded to an Paramount MX+ not long after purchasing this, yes I got obsessed!.
I was going to keep it as a Visual mount as it does AZ so well, but I used it once like this and has remained in storage.
Attached is a very low res version of M42 M43 that I took with a Takahashi FSQ106ED on this mount in EQ mode

It has always has been stored inside.

Includes original tripod, counterweights and extra pier extension kit

$2000

Pick up Geelong region or we can discuss freight options

Pics of the mount

I took some pics of the AZ-EQ6 Pro GT both in Alt Az and EQ modes.

It really is a beautiful mount that I haven't used in a while as I have been using the (much heavier!) Paramount MX+
It has great GOTO capabilities and ease of use for both the beginner and advanced astronomer.

A great design by skywatcher that you can use in 3 modes
-Alt Az, for easy visual touring of the sky.
-Alt Az with 2 saddles for 2 telescopes
-Classic EQ mode

It has a much stronger $300 upgraded saddle which was designed for this mount. Rock solid for bigger telescopes.

Also has a pier extension if required.
I have numerous other pier adapters for different things in the shed so if you want to put this on something you already have it may be possible, just ask me.

Skywatcher ship with a 12V cig lighter plug so you can use with a portable power source/battery.
You can buy a good 5A regulated 12V supply from Jacar for about $100. Which is what I used, but I still need mine.

To make it easy to swap between the 2 options I cut the power cord and added Andersen power pole connectors (These are good for 15A, the mount uses 3A).
You can therefore easily switch between the Cig lighter or the second plug that you can wire to a 12V supply.
Note there is an extra wire I added which is cut that you can join onto to supply cameras and dew heaters etc.
You can see all these cables in the photos.
Original instruction manual for the mount and synscan included.

I also have 2 vids showing the very quiet and very smooth slewing that I can send anyone that wants them.

It is in mint condition
Clear skys!
