I just dont know

I just dont know about the colour but I like it
I tried out the "plan" feature on Asiair plus..you tell it a selection of objects press the button and away it goes...so I put in four objects and this is the first...approx one hour of 60 second subs at gain 100.

RASA 11 inch ZWO 2600 OSC

Generally the results were not flash as there are just too many stars...anyways I will post my results as time goes on..

I did do flats and bias which is a drama with the RASA.

The colour just does not seem realistic to me..any thoughts?

Alex,
This image is superb from 2600MC and that fast scope
Starfield is fine , definitely not to busy and nice tight stars ( if you want to see a busy starfield take a look at my M7 Ptolemy cluster I posted back in April , ridiculously busy Starfield )
Colour is excellent
Background noise is minimal
Nebulosity is spectacular, swirling dust clouds
Overall an excellent image !!!!
The other images are ok but not in the same league as this wonderful image

Keep doing what doing

Best always
Martin

I hope you don't mind what I did here Alex, I just wanted to agree with Martins words and show you how good the data is in your first shot posted. This is a seriously great image! With a little adjustment to the contrast ( I simply edited your image on my phone ), this should be posted in the Deep Space section. You may well struggle with the processing side of things but very often you can tell that your raw data is of high quality. To my mind, this is one of the best you've produced. Superb!

Ditto.

Alex- give yourself a big pat on the back. You deserve some kudos with this one- all the ingredients of a very attractive Astro pic. You have managed great tracking and the equipment you’re using is stacking up to be a great combo.
Hone in on the processing you are not far off producing consistently great images. Your effort is clearly showing Alex to have made great strides - well done!

Anthony

Thanks everyone.
I think maybe dew on either the corrector plate or the internal camera heater may not have been on...

I really appreciate all your kind words as I was tired and the disappointment overwhelmed me...but reading the nice words here has me ready for another attempt tonight.

Absolutely Awesome Alex, that's three A's. The Rho is a ripper and the others are very solid. Congrats!

Another great image Alex, but I think it looks abnormal as the background is not black. You can see it even in the thumbnail. I have been there, the longer you look at the screen the more your eyes change through the night!!!

Thanks Craig. I sent my daughter the image and one thing I did not realise until she showed me was the difference between screens.
The colour of space I beard was a deep purple

Thanks again

Your first image is excellent, Alex. Big, inky black swirls of shadow on a sea of stars - a great change from the usual nebulae on a black background.

Cheers,
V.

I really like your first image, Alex, it's a beauty (the others a good too, but the first is the pick). The colours, well controlled stars and detail in the nebulosity are captivating. For comparison, I cannot get stars like you can with your RASA when I use the focal reducer on my EdgeHD.

What is this target? Keep em coming.

Alex
