Hi John.
Lately I haven't been fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to worry about dew problems, because i haven't been out observing for so long, the weather has been so baaaad!
But a couple of times when i've been up early observing the planets, the dew has hit just before dawn.
Generally the planets were low on the horizon, so the tube wasn't tilted up enough for the dew to settle on the mirror, and I kept the top cap on my eyepieces when they were stored in the eyepiece rack on teh base, so that they didn't dew up.
There have been times of course when I started noticing the view was getting worse, and looked and found dew all over the mirror, the finderscope etc.. I just figured it was time to pack it up for the night
I haven't felt the need to combat dew in any way at this stage, the weather just hasn't warranted it, but I've heard of people simply creating an extension on the tube, both to combat stray light entering the top of the tube, and to combat dew, just like those funky LX200 dewshields that the boys have posted in the rig thread.
