Public 'Thank You' thread

I would not be anywhere near as well set up as I am now, churning out Toucam Astro-pics and enjoying this hobby more and more all the time if it were not for the fantastic people that have helped me advance over the last 2 years.

I have been given equipment, purchased equipment at very reduced prices, supplied with a mountain of information, and been given hands-on support.

And I would like to start this thread to publicly display my gratitude to those people.

I do hope others follow on with this thread. Not to brag about what you have, or to embarrass anyone. Purely to give recognition to those that deserve it. It may even help newbies realise they aren't on thier own. We all help in ways we can.

To prevent embarrassment (or even jealousy) I will not mention whether they gave, or sold to me. Just who has been involved in my adventure.
(if I forget a person, or an item, I apologise)

This is not a list of everything I have, or bought, just those that have made a major difference to my observing and Astrophotography.

Bert: Giant EQ Mount, ED80, Laptop, Toucams, Guidescope, My sons 8", accessories, and an endless supply of information.

Houghy: 20x80 Triplet binoculars, Computer Program, EQ6 Skyscan Mount.

Davo Pretorius: Masses of information over the phone when it was urgently needed.

Barb & David: Coloured Filters

Leon: Orion Accufocus

Darren: An enormous amount of his time regularly, hands-on setting up my computers, and connecting all my guiding and other cables

Bird: Patience showing me one-on-one how to capture and process Avi's

Doug: Huge amount of processing tips

My Cheryl: For constantly encouraging me with my Astrophotography

And all the good folk in IceInSpace, South Celestial Pole, and Cloudy Nights that have honestly encouraged me to keep going.

Thank you all

Who has helped you significantly?
They deserve a public 'Thank You'

It's just lovely to hear of good folk, their kindness and the good deeds they do. Makes today’s troubled World seem a less dark place to live. Well done guys and gals, for your generosity.

Cheers

Dennis

Geez, Ken, you have put Cheryl at the bottom of the list? I'd get back there and edit it if I were you.

Seriously, that's a nice thought - though what those people think about your post might change when I start ringing them for help.

While I cannot speak for any of the people mentioned I am quite sure that if you were not a genuine person and ignored (that doesn't mean question) their advice then you wouldn't have received the support you did.

You couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to share a hobby with.
There are folk here whom I've never met, or only met once or twice, and I regard them as friends.
Thanks for that.

Yes Ken, the wealth of knowledge, and advice from so many of it's members of this site is sometimes overwhelming.

I too would not have been at the level of imaging, had it not been for all the good folk here, and the tremendous support and advice i was given.

Mind you i still have a lot to learn, but know i can depend on members to help where possible.

My hat goes off to you all.

Cheers Leon

I have been helped over the years by too many people to mention! And it was always impressed apon me that the only payback was to help others when and if I could.

If we all did this the world would be a far better place.

It is that simple really!

thanks heaps ken!!!

"givers gain"

when you can honestly "give with any thought of personal gain", it actually comes back amplified!

the modded toucam images of Kens really make me very happy.... they are more than just images!
