We realised the other night that it was over a month since we had done any night time astronomy. Venus beckoned and Mars was not far away in a two dimensional sense but unfortunately a very long way away and very small in reality! These barely pass the test of being recognisable for what they are but it was fun trying
Mars only just has some vague surface features that look similar to the simulation for the time and date.
Both taken with our 6" SCT, 4.6x barlow and ASI174MM. Venus taken with a #47 Wratten filter.
