Which are the brightest galaxy's in Sydney skies at the moment?
Hi Guys.
I've had my telescope for about 6 months and I'm yet to spy a galaxy through my scope. Where I live the skies are heavily light polluted. I have a meade ETX 125 PE with 2x/3x barlows and 26/15/12mm EP's. Am I doing something wrong or are they just that small and faint that I dont see it even when I'm looking?
M 83, M 104, and Centaurus A as Ving has said-all visible with binos from my backyard so should be easy with the ETX 70..not tonight though wait for a dark (new moon ) night
White Rabbit,
I myself have recently just started veiwing galaxies, the previous comments all are worthy easy targests M104 is great even when the moon is bright but have found that Centaurus A a little harder to find with the moon but still visible.
Another Galaxy that I located last night was NGC4945 a large edge on spiral galaxy not far from Omega Centaurus worth hinting for IMHO.
Just have fun, when you see your first oh what a buzz.
