More widefields

Here's a small collection I took last weekend from a Bortle 2 location in Central Victoria. Man, what a difference it makes to be away from city lights. None of these were more than 25 mins integration. Rho was the longest at 24 mins, 12 x 120 seconds, 800iso, 50mm lens, f 5.6. Next was M8 and M20, 15 mins, 15 x 60 seconds, 1600iso, 135mm lens, f 5.6 and finally Carina, 5 mins, 5 x 60 seconds, 3200iso, 135mm lens, f 5.6. All shot with a modded Canon 550d using a UV/IR cut filter and iOptron Sky Tracker Pro mount. Stacked in DSS, level adjustsments and noise reduction in STs, colour correction, cropping and resizing in Photoshop.

They're great! Particularly the dense starfields and clouds giving context to the object, very very cool!

Thanks John, yes, if I was to title the shot of M8 and M20 it would have been " The Oasis Next to The Desert" That dust looks a lot like sand next to a lagoon.

Yes Dave, it's mind boggling to think each one is a sun. The Carina nebula is almost disappears amongst all those stars.
