AI has no consciousness to properly understand what it's saying.

The Sun is less dense than the Earth as any gas would be.

ChatGPT came up in another thread, https://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/...8&postcount=27 where it had offered a curious mix of fact and fiction, claiming that the HST (launched in 1990) was cataloging the area of interest in the mid-1970s.

I said there that it was either a liar, deluded or witless, and voted the latter. Despite the claim to Artificial Intelligence it is not intelligent, it is witless, and lacks ability to detect incongruity or logical inconsistency, showing it understands nothing it puts out.

Thanks for sharing; it was rather amusing.

AI is a waste of time me thinks.. at least for now.
The problem is, some people believe it is quite OK, and they are really using it.. consequences may be disastrous (I am just waiting for the news someone was left with empty bank account after taking "advice" from AI)

yeah I've had it correct itself a few times. Usually it gets it right the next go, but yours is all over the place

you will get better responses from it if you converse with it as though you would another person

it is after all, a language model so it responds to conversation that it has learned from and continues to learn from with its experience with you

Smile

Now and then when talking to astronomy enthusiasts who are seeking
specific advice, I suggest they might consider reaching out on the
IceInSpace astronomy forum.

When I then ask if they are familiar with IceInSpace, many tell me they
have never heard of it.
