Ngc3576

Hello fellow Astros,

I hope you are all well.

My turn for NGC3576. I have never imaged this before with any success so I am delighted to have a result however it turned out.

I recon that's turned out pretty nicely Graham

Plenty of lovely contrast and it looks nicely detailed.

I'm still training my own neural network to recognise the use of GradEX , so can I ask what sharpening routine you used?

Hi Mike,

I generally try to not use any sharpening if can help it. If I do, I usually use Decon on Lum channel only and sometimes, at a push, I will use unsharp mask with a good star mask.

Since the advent of Blur Xterminator, I have used it on this image with a calculated PSF averaged and set to manual, and only as a decon routine to the Lum layer.

I'm not into sharpening everything right up.

I hope that helps.

Yeah my training is coming along nicely Thanks for the info. I've heard others say they use GradEx "just for decon" too but my understanding is that this is what it is, so how else might it be used...?
