Skull & Crossbones

I started on this one with the EON85 and 0.8x reducer (450mm).
Between comets, witches, chickens, star clusters and shifting stuff around I continued with the 8" F/5 newt and stacked it all in APP with its different camera/optics feature. I'm still learning APP so it took me several goes to get it to not error, mainly because I had so many files and cal files I made mistakes allocating sessions. Finally got it sorted.

This was taken over several weeks getting as little as 45min on some nights.

The crop to get rid of the stacking/combining artefacts leaves this at 1:1, no reduction just a jpg crunch to bring them down to 220kb to post.

I went for standard? palette this time but did a foraxx for the fun of it. I think the standard is better by far, definitely enhances the detail but the foraxx is more arty :rainbowsparkles:

I initially stacked each scope separately and the newt's data was "nicer" than the eon's but I had so much (for me) I didn't want to waste it.

EON85 + 0.8x + EQ6R + NINA
ASI1600mm + Antlia Pro
65 x 300s (~5hrs) each of SHO (200g 25o -10C)

BT200 f/5 + TSGPU + G11 + NINA
ASI1600mm + Antlia Pro
55 x 300s (~5hrs) of H (139g 25o -10C)
40 x 300s (~3.5hrs) of S (139g 25o -10C)
40 x 300s (~3.5hrs) of O (139g 25o -10C)

APP + PI

You have become the master oh great one.

Wonderful work and when you get multiple stacking worked out please a thread on how it is done...one day if I ever get things working etc I want to see how I can use more than one scope to make an image...there is a lot to think about and who better to work it out than someone like you who knows what they are doing.

Again fantastic work.

Alex

Cheers Alex, any improvement can only be from your generous and patient mentoring.

I don't know about "worked out", it took much clicking and gnashing

The short version:
- Load the files from each setup as a separate session
- uncheck "same camera and optics" in the register tab
- select "integrate per channel" and "integrate all & per session" at the top in the integrate tab
- integrate.

I probably forgot to do something important but that's how I bumbled through.

Beautiful images, John. Can't say anything more than that - SHO/HOO mono images are insanely good looking. How much integration do you have ... 21-22hrs? Alex

I redid just the BT200 data (~12hrs) and didn't murder the stars (as much) and played with a different palette. I like this one much better.

Beautiful image John. Certainly not a beginner image in my opinion. Well done.
