Dovetail mount for AZ-3

Greetings all.
Thank goodness for forums. This looks like a good one.
I am new here and an absolute beginner to astronomy.
The reason I am interested is from the big skes when out camping in western NSW. Who does not want to see more? So I needed something portable and relatively tough.
So I bought myself an Acuter Mak 80, it duly arrived and also a Syywatcher AZ-3 tripod. Now that is not that small, or light, but is sturdy.
So far I am unable to find a female dovetail bar mount to fit tripod head to the Mak 80. Searched high an low online. So I took the tripod and Mak 80 to Bintel at Glebe and was told they could not be married together. I really do find that hard to believer from all the different mounts available.
Any suggestions apart from another tripod?
I want to use the Skywatcher, seems reasonably well built and suits my needs I think.

You should be able to fit one of these on your mount. I have a similar mount and it just screwed onto the camera thread in the centre of the adapter.

Thanks Rick. I did look at that vixen mount, thought it was too small, a bar mount would be more secure, though the scope is lightweight. Best thing is for me to take head and scope in to Bintel again. I will suggest their Vixen as you mentioned.
