The orange SHG image is a real beauty Maurice. Which SHG are you using - commercial or made? Regards John W.

Maurice,
Some excellent results there, well done!

John,
Unfortunately there are no current commercial spectroheliographs on the market.
There are 3D print plans available and a "set" of optics available from Shelyak in France.
My MiniSHG was made using unused 1 1/4" camera/ eyepiece adaptors, the 125mm lenses, a 2400 l/mm grating and a plywood box.

Thanks John.

As Ken has said, no commercial SHG's atm.
Mine is the version designed by Christian Buil and is called a SolEx.
I 3d printed all the bits & purchased the optics kit from Shelyak in France.
Its a clever design that is really optimized for Ha use, but can work well all the way into the UV.
Christian has made use of the 125/80 ratio in the collimator to imager FL to basically fill the frame of a ASI178MM camera with a 4.5mm 10micron slit at 450mm of focal length for a full disc scan.
A good way to 'test the waters' and learn about using a spectroheliograph and its limitations.
I am currently designing my next one.....
