Let's all hope for rain

I know it goes entirely against the astro passion but I'm happy to keep everything crossed that all the predictions of a big downpour over the next 12 hours come true

There are a lot of people whose lives hang completely in the balance, reliant completely on getting a break from above.

Let's all collectively hope all those who need it so badly get a beautiful drop of rain... and then some really good follow-up rains

It's been overcast here all day, Ken, but so far no wet stuff.

We're supposed to get some good falls after about 10pm tonight and that should last through to the early morning.

Some areas are tipped to get between 20 and 30mm.

A few as much as 50mm.

Wouldn't that be sweet.

There'd be many who can't remember seeing a couple of inches of rain.

Like many, I am hopeful that some good general rains fall across the land...we can use them!

I'd settle for letting it rain all day and clear up each night for a while...

No each-way bets, mate

If we have to sacrifice a few good nights for a few good night's rain... well, that's just the price.

Are you listening Weather Gods? Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets all race out and buy new telescopes (this will guarantee cloud), then we will all wash our cars (this will guarantee rain).

I was outside just a while ago and the sky looked very unusual... very dark like a clear night, but there were no stars... the cloud was obviously very high, since even the glow from town and the factories didn't highlight it.

Not allowed to wash our cars here - that's one reason we need rain!!

Guess what - it's been raining on and off today and night. Young children are scared of the strange noise!

We are forecast this evening for Massive Thunderstorms, flash-flooding and large hail.

All we got was a bit of cloud, some distant lightning and no rain!!!!!

I was even out imaging tonight.

WHERE'S THE RAIN??????????????????????????????? ?????????

Just checked the rain gauge to find thar we have had 28mm in the past 24 hours and it is still falling. A few cloudy nights is a small price to pay really, and nice wet ground and cool temps make for better seeing anyway. Greg.

We ended up with good rain.

It started around 11pm and was still falling at 4.30am this morning. Pretty heavy at times, too.

Still looks like a bit more to come today.

We've had something around 26mm.

Started here about 7:30pm last night and we've had 26.6mm up until now, and it looks like there's plenty more on the way.

Got some good rain this morning and I got a soggy bum riding to work .
But I've been wet before and I'll be wet again.
