To's DIY Projects and How-To guides for getting the most out of your astronomy equip

Could the DIY-How to section could be reinvigorated? It’s very difficult for me to use my gear, I’d love to read the various approaches Astro gents are using.
Is there any chance of say a prize for the best DIY project, I’d be happy to kick-the-can for $100 of equipment, accessories.

What about a design competition to design a rig that would suit you...something specific maybe...

Looking at the section it is really not too shabby...
Maybe see what people feel is missing.

I doubt if it needs to be "re-invigorated", I suspect it doesn't get a lot of use because not everyone is a hands-on/fix-it/how-can-it-be-improved type of person. For most people it's easier to buy something rather than try and make it.

The DYI’s are on the whole more than a decade old. It’s great reading in a slightly longer format than a forum.
It’s like sea journeys, the plan, the voyage, the destination. It’s both interesting and inspiring. It’s not so much that that project is finished, it that the task is in hand.
