My reason for selling is this; I have mainly been taking HyperStar and planetary images and I wanted to photograph deep sky objects in more detail, I thought the ODK16 at f6.8 might allow me to do this. However my observatory is on the second story balcony of my house, steel C beams and wooden floor (see the second photo) it’s fine for HyperStar and planetary imaging but not suitable for long focal length scopes and long exposures. Yes I can take photos and they are ok if you don’t enlarge them. I thought I might be able to get away with it, but all the images I have taken show movement when enlarged.
So don’t ask me to send you high resolution images, I don’t have any without movement, so it would be a waste of time.
It’s been an expensive experiment, my loss your gain.
Everything is in great condition; the primary mirror and secondary mirror are in very good condition, the carbon fiber tube and anodized aluminum parts are unmarked, it’s fitted with the original focuser which can handle the heaviest cameras, three focuser backs included for various purposes.
The mirror is coated with Orion’s optional Hilux enhanced aluminum coating, which lasts 25 + years and reflects up to 97% of the light it receives, read about it here-
