The Christmas Rose- widefield

This was an image I wanted to complete before Xmas 2022. I am mainly a widefield photographer using an Askar ACL 200 with a OSC ASI6200MC.

I did about 6 edits to try to incorporate the O3 and HA.... challenging!

This was taken at Swan Reach Imaging Services in South Australia.
RGB: 87x300-7.25 hrs

Looks great with all the detail to be seen, and a restrained colour palette, too. Very well done!

Thank you all for the comments. It is so difficult for me to restrain myself from over saturating and over doing everything.

Hopefully this link to a bigger image is available

A good idea to post the high resolution version Jarrod. It is good to get up close and personal with the data and allows one to better appreciate the final image. Im tempted to have a go at this field myself now with my wide field set up.

Clear skies,
Rodney

Outstanding!
Beautifully composed and rendered - it's also a helpful reference image for the region's content as well.

Its an awesome area to image. The connecting gas and dust makes the image from the main targets. Processing is very nice. Our site is certainly paying off and I expect we will have years of imaging from Swan Reach.

Hi Jarrod,
I'm glad you posted that larger size.
It's an excellent image.
You say -
was taken at Swan Reach Imaging Services in South Australia.

Are you setting up your own equipment there or are you renting time?

cheers
Allan
