Planetary imaging with 925 EdgeHd

Hey guys,

There was a 5% off sale at Bintel so took the plunge and purchase the 925 EdgeHd.

This will be riding on my EQ6r Pro.

My main interest is DSOs (particularly galaxies) but it will be rude if I did not try planetary with this scope.

My main imaging camera is a QHY 294mmpro but for planetary I would be using my guide scope which is a QHY290mm.

Based on it's pixel size and the 5X rule the ideal F ratio would be f14.

The native Fratio of the scope is f10. Would a 2x barlow be too much? Has anyone used this combination of sensor and scope? If so can you recommend a barlow.

You can remove the barlow element off a standard 2x barlow and screw it directly into the nosepiece of the camera to give you an effective magnification of about 1.5x.

I use the 2" Astro-Physics advanced barlow which splits apart and allows the lens to be screwed into female 48mm and T-threads (42mm) .

You can adjust the spacing to go from 1.8x to 2.5x but I have found that can easily be extended from 1.5x to 3x with with no edge distortion on smaller sensors by simply removing or adding spacers into the image train.
