Seeking opinions on the Meade Pictor 416XTE

Hi All,

How does this compare with the DSI PRO II and other new release camera;s on the market.

G'day Fahim,
The Pictor 416XTE has the same chip as the Sbig ST7XE.
I have owned a 416XT for several years and was most annoyed with the software from Meade. I don't use it anymore. It's retired.
It will take a minute or so to download a full frame in serial mode, and about 12 seconds or more in SCSI mode if you are fortunate enough to be able to use SCSI.
It is a more sensitive camera than the DSI's, and it is cooled.
You would be better off with an ST402ME or a ST7XME with a full frame USB download time of about 1 second.

Regards
Vince G
