Earthlight, given that you live at Acacia Ridge and you mention getting caught by the train, then you could only be talking about the rail crossing on Beaudesert Rd. For those not in the know this is where you get freight trains pulling 100 wagons setting off from the freight yard just next to the main road. You can be stuck there for 10+ minutes waiting for a train to slowly accelerate up to speed past the crossing.

I remember getting caught here once a few years ago on my way to a job interview. Nothing like a 10 minute delay to increase the stress levels.
