Two phones for security camera

I have two phones for legitimate reasons..I found sticking one one the roof the best way to get better internet..it is in a sandwich bag under a tarp and both are one the cheapest plans and I use data from both..
Anyways it works for me...
Now I need a camera in the observatory so I can do a visual check ..I just can not sit here and believe a meridian shift can go off with out a problem...so I keep meaning to buy a camera and asked for advice here but have not done anything..that probably needs an update even with newclroducts always arriving...however I thought two phones ..video conference..and can you ring a phone and it can be set to answer...see where I am going?ANY views on if there is a way or if you have heard of some new camera etc

you can use a phone as a webcam:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hl=en_AU&gl=US
(I think that's the one)
But it probably (definitely) wont have good enough dark pic.

I'm currently using a wyze 3 reflashed to RTSP stream. You have to change any settings with the phone app but after you set up rtsp you can stream in a window on the pc with VLC or the like.
It has great general low light performance considering the price ($70), nautical dark or full moon is like broad daylight, but with no light it is poor. By no light I mean no moon or other incidental. In pitch dark the operational LEDs on the mount/hub/dew heater/etc are enough to get a mediocre pic.
It has good IR to about 10m in two wavelengths.

Thanks I may go back to putting a camp stretcher in there with a plastic sheet to keep out the dew...happily I have all the mounts to one side so there is plenty of room for a bed..before I got cancer I had a bed in there but the girls took it to the main house for my recovery..I may get it back..mmm yes and a little stove and water supply ..heck I may as well move in.

How is your internet connection/mobile service.
You may struggle with a video call if you don’t.

Might be worth looking into a mobile phone booster mate. Will get what signal you have and spread it at full signal in your obs.
Pm me for more details if interested. I put these things in almost every day and they just work.
