Hi, Girls, Ladies, Women, Females, ya know what I mean.

Hi, Girls, Ladies, Women, Females, ya know what I mean.
Ok, tell me this, after what I have to say.

I am 73 years old and I have been with my Alice forever, and I love her to bits.

I am very well domesticated in the everyday duties of a normal day, and have been doing it forever.

Yea, I can cook, clean, wash, vac, and so on, and get the washing in fold it a put it away, cook and clean up, etc., ya know all the stuff that you ladies do.

However, on the last occasion of bringing in the washing and putting it away a thought struck me.

I was folding at least three extra things of normal clothing for Alice than me.

So ladies please tell why do you need three more undies, pants, shirts, jeans, tops and whatever than I do, I know you need Bras, we blokes don’t, so we will discount you for that item

I have one cupboard in the bedroom, that houses all my stuff, and Alice has three, fully packed.
The bathroom is the same, I have one draw with all I need, Alice has tree as well and two small cupboards.

I really don’t care, but is this girl/female thing,
just saying

However remember we still love ya all.

Leon

PS: just a fun debate please, there is nothing personal to anyone intended here.

Wow Leon, you only just noticed this. I think think there is some kind of proportional law where they need 3 times more stuff to look and smell 9 times better than us. Both you and I know by now (married 34 yrs) to just go with the flow. There is no fighting it. Small price to pay for bliss and harmony
Cheers, Richard

Hi leon,

Dare I say it, but I think the reason for the difference is the difference in the societal expectations of appearance for men versus women, which are set by many years of history and reinforced by advertising , media and societal circles.

Huge generalisation, by way of example...
To attend a formal, say black tie event, all the men will wear the same or similar tuxedos, so a man has maybe one tuxedo in his wardrobe, for all such events. Ladies however; are "expected" to stand out, in the fashion of the day and to an extent to not wear the same gown their friends saw them in at last years ball. Something like that....
Best
JA

My wife says I have two faults: I don't pay attention....and something else.

Coming up to our 40th I've also learnt "happy wife- happy life".....and in the case of my wife (aka Imelda) never question her shoe collection.

My Minister for Finance was sent to the backbench after a vote of no confidence. Position is currently filled by an Independent, so I have to slap myself every time a new scope arrives.......................

And speaking of wardrobes and dress sense - why do I have only a few reasonable shirts, yet countless hi-vis 4 years into retirement?
