Yeah certainly very cool but, in that location, on a substantial dwelling, I would be concerned about local seeing effects, has to be some turbulent warm air currents swirling around there at times..??

Yeah. I can't imagine the wife would be happy about the entire house having to be cooled to ambient temperature.

Then again, maybe it's the *wife's telescope - don't want to assume. Plenty of women doing amazing stuff in amateur astronomy.

Hmmm?...my wife has said a few times over the last 6 months, as my (our..? ) observatory and it s associated cost spread sheet has climbed .. "why couldn't you have been happy with a small shed, on a couple of acres, near the city...and not have to be on 100 acres, completely out of sight of neighbours, with no lights visible, over an hours drive away from the city and have to be located at the highest bloody (freezing cold) spot in bloody Australia! ??"

and I reply "I dunno dear...? It just happened that way darlink ...."

Which is true, I didn't plan it this way....just got lucky ...but I might use this guy as an example of how..?.. it could be worse?

Had a customer here in Sydney with an incredibly impressive rooftop observatory. Must have been a major feat to get council approval.
Housed a Losmandy Titan mount and the pier ran all the way down through the center of the spiral staircase, through the floor of the house and
down to the core of the Earth or somewhere immovable.

The rooftop observatory's presence is barely noticeable in the house
