Great image Mick, the globulars have come out very nice and sharp.
I notice there is a blue streak near Antares, is that a flare from the brightness of Antares.
Mike, why don't you do more exposures and stack them, it will reduce the noise in the images making them appear much cleaner. or was this a test of the 80's optics?
Still shows that you have your hang guiding down pat, looks good.
thanks Andrew, l have been just playing around with guiding at different focal lengths and magnifications with different scopes and noting the results.
l am not what you would call fanatical or even semi-dedicated when it comes to astrophotography, it's just another side of astronomy in general to me, l will eventually do multiples and stacking in the future but for now it is more about working out the hardware side of things first.
the LX 200 that l am using for most of the guiding is getting better all the time and with new components l am having made it will get better still.
