I've been looking at the clouds all day today hoping for a small gap of blue sky enough to capture a few images of the sun. Well, the wait was worth it, I got a nice slither of clear sky between the dark rain bearing clouds.
Today's main solar features are the active region AR 3053 (upper left) which has doubled in size in the last couple of days. We will get a better view once this active region faces the Earth early next week.
A new active region AR3055 (lower left) has emerged from the sun's Eastern limb and finally, there was a nice display of solar prominences on both the sun's Eastern and Western limbs.
They are exceptionally good images George. Lovely detail on the close ups and those huge proms are very impressive. We have just had the rain bearing clouds today, so great to see your images!
