This time of year and in Spring here in Walcha i've learnt that if i set my scope up around 6pm, photograph till 9pm, fog rolls in.....by 11:30pm the fog goes and its clear until morning.....by that time i've already packed up and gone to bed only to see stars out my window!

Bad mistake - opening your bedroom curtains after you've given up because of cloud/fog/rain and gone to bed - ignorance is better?
