What is this? Possible meteor?

I’m in Kingston, south Australia on a road trip and looked up and saw this tonight. Didn’t notice a flash of light and there was no sound. The trail dissipated within minutes and in the <1 minute between noticing this, stopping the car and taking a photo, the trail has already deteriorated from a crisp straight line. There are not many aircraft flying over here and their contrails are usually whiter and higher.

Thoughts?

I'd guess booster rocket from the corkscrew, but your 750k's* plus from Woomera(WPA). I know they have been active recently as they made the news when they managed to damage some heritage sites.

Just had a quick search, Port Lincoln is currently being used for rocket testing, that would put you in the right direction and within testing.

Thanks Steve. That’s still fascinating and I wish I’d seen that.

Certainly, not a sight for many Australian's most days... at least you got to see some of the testing.

If I was you I would spend a little time checking for launch windows that maybe used this week or while your in LOS.
