Here's something a little different. Shooting M83 with an ASI224mc and ASI120mms. On Saturday night I used the 224mc and guided with the 120mms, on Sunday I used the 120mms and guided with the 224mc. Saturday night the seeing here in Melbourne was good so I got some reasonable RGB data. On Sunday, I used a deep Sky filter for luminance data. This for a total of 50mins of integration (20mins RGB, 30mins Luminance) using a Skywatcher 6 inch f5 Newtonian on a HEQ5pro mount. These cameras certainly crop your target tight so I didn't bother using a CC or shooting flats.

Good effort Mic, most innovative!

I would still give the image a crop, and maybe noise reduction for the heck of it.

Thanks Peter. Yeah, give it a go. It's quite bright, even from my Bortle 6 skies you can manage a reasonable image.

Thanks Peter, really this was not a serious attempt by any means, just a bit of fun from one of my limited locations on the backyard lawn, so I won't be trying to jazz it up cosmetically, the data just isn't good enough. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks Dave, great for a planetary camera maybe but certainly way below what can be achieved with better equipment.

Thanks Martin, noise was always going to be a problem without using a cooled camera and short exposure times but at least these cameras helped with the image size on a 6 inch scope. I have small windows of sky amongst the many trees on our property, so I have to be quick to grab as much as I can in limited time.
