Interesting way of producing lenses in microgravity

https://petapixel.com/2022/04/06/nas...-size-of-webb/

The most interesting thing is that they managed to do it on earth by matching densities of the containing and injected liquids, and the result is a lens that has better optical precision than one that had been ground using traditional methods.

They need Brock's energy polarizar to align up the chem chains before setting...

Earth applications are pretty cool, I'm a little negative about using liquids for costs and size/weight etc, but for robustness launch to orbit you can't beat it . *

I saw one with two gas filled membranes acting as a refractor suspended 100m's apart in space. Thought that had potent for a large scope with low launch costs.

*Though launch per kilo is dropping in recent times

Good grief, someone else remembers the energy polariser. I bet you’ve got a blue print of Adelaide’s Multifunction Polis.
