Very nice first go. There should be far more nebulosity visible, and more
Ha [red] as well. What were your settings, and what calibration frames if
any were used? Or did you enable in camera noise reduction. What ISO did
you use? 1600 is the sweet spot for the 1100D [a damn good budget level camera].

Thanks guys. Was not able to shoot calibration frames as my 2yo son refocused the scope while dad was looking away so could not take flats. Wondering if I could still take some with the focus the way it is.
And dont worry your wife by talking about what you want to get...they worry un necessarily and you dont want that...so just buy what you want after all she just wants you to be happy so dont disappoint her...and dont worry her with details like cost...that is not fair to her..
But the main thing is to wear out your current gear from plenty of use.
I have a few scopes right up to a RASA 11 and after a long spell I am more looking forward to using the 80mm than the others...they are just so good people rush to larger scopes leaving the best behind. See your sight on a narrow band camera ...one capture in HA and you eill appreciate my advice...
What I would suggest get more lights of this object... frame as close to the current image and then stack everything.... get three times more and throw out stuff that is not perfect..very hard to do but that is so important..be ruthless... use only perfect subs...you can get away with out calibration so dont get hung up worrying about it..when you have heaps of perfect light frames of your target you wont worry about noise.... .and for goodness sake teach your Son how to focus.
Hey Alex. Thank you for being so thoughtful about my wife's feeling. I will defintely take that advice. Will take some more subs of the object. Waiting for the clouds to clear.
I forgot to compliment you on the fact you achieved your image without auto guiding as that points to some dedication in getting everything right. You could go up with ISO ... What I like to do is get a variety of exposures ..some to bring out the faint stuff and some to highlight the core, which you have done nicely and merge them in photoshop to get the faint regions and the trap in the one image...but sincerely my hat off to you for such long unguided subs.
Keep it up you are clearly a natural...
Alex
Will try the variable exposures. The quality of the unguided data is a testament to the 3 star polar alignment plugin in NINA and the eq6r-pro. Awesome software and hardware working harmoniously 😀.
