Thanks for the post.
Quentin Parker gave a very interesting presentation to the ASNSW on 30th
June last year, describing the methodology as to how the survey was carried out.
Congratulations to Quentin and the team at Macquarie University.
Congratulations also to Andrew Murrell for discovering his own PNe that was
not covered by the survey. I had the privilege of being present with Andrew
at the time, but he kept very quiet about it until we were most of the way
back home. While filling up at the service station, Andrew said to me, "I think
I may have discovered something".
Quentin congratulated Andrew in person at the ASNSW meeting. Andrew's
PNe was only one of two discovered by amateurs in that year (2004).
Andrew reported that they observed it again most recently through the 25"
Obsession at Coonabarabran in March. It's a very challenging object.
