Heads Up....

Does anyone here have and use a heads up display in their cars ..what do you think? Good to have or just one of those things you buy that never gets used...like a RASA 11

Now that I am older or maybe its the opiates I find that I look at the speedo and seem to take a long time to either have things register or to remember to look up and I consider not watching the road continually could cause problems like getting lost or missing a corner...I could just not look away from the road but I do like to know how far over the speed limit I am travelling.

A heads up seems like a good idea but no doubt I think that is because the add I just now read convinced me it is as a good idea which they will do to sell you the product..the only people I trust are the good members here and so there are few things that I do without the input from the brain trust here.

I don't have, but have driven the Boss,s Audi V8 Sports, he told me take for a drive once a Month, and wow is that thing scary. 0-100 in 3.1 seconds.
I know I tried

Anyway Alex that is getting away from your question it has a display on the screen straight in front of your eyes and can be a little distracting if one is not used to it.

Other than that one never has to look down to look at the speed, it dose it's job well.

Something like that Glen..it is bad enough at slow speeds but if I ever get to have a go on a track I am sure it would be a safety feature.

Take care.
I welcome your input Glen, with out you my life would not be a good as it has turned out to be..I am going to see the cancer doctor tomorrow I will raise the oxy with her and see if I can drop it...not to race cars but just not to be on it...How effective can it be if I still experience bad feet and hand pain?

And a fantastic day to morrow..office works rang and told me that my printer ink has come it...that doesnt happen every day.

Hi,

I got a small heads up display from Aldi, it was only $40 and plugs into the scan port under the dash. It sits on a small sticky plastic pad on the dash and displays the speed and the revs in the corner of the windscreen, a small credit card sized reflected patch on the windscreen for display.

My ute doesn't do 200 k/h but the unit does display whatever the speedo displays.

It does what it says and means I don't have to look down at the speedo, it's only $40 but honestly I could live without it...

Cheers

As mentioned Alex it displays any speed the Audi has a numbered speed to 360 klm's per hour, I reckon on a race track it would probably get close.

Well I bought one today at Supercheap Auto and of course paid thru the nose but I got it...I needed some small batteries for one of the red cars "keys" and asked for a discount..they said they could do 20% if I joined their club..great I am in...so $20 towards a sushi lunch..and to fight back against the anti vaxers..outside the shop there are two car spots designated click and collect which I understand is for the folk who dont have the double jab certificate...so I parked there out of spite

Off topic but a little news..saw the cancer Doctor who says I am one of the healthiest persons she has seen except for the cancer..the crook feet..just back off the meds..so all good...and very impressed with my recovery in the kidney Dept...they are 100% which I interpret as good.

Glad I did not take the red car as now I am noticing all the drives that cause the Hyundai to have contact.
I expect the red one would be a pain for shopping.
