Anyone else recall the wattle pollen being as bad as this year? The winter rains really must've made them explode - literally!
Driving around Canberra (deserted Canberra lol), I frequently encounter what honestly looks like a military yellow smoke grenade plume - driving along Duntroon today you could see the wind-borne plume a kilometre away. Along Horsepark drive, various sections again looking like a rapid-evac smoke flare gone off. My black car is yellow in the morning. Walking in the grass elicits yellow shoes. I'm sweeping my path twice a day!
And the funny thing is the rise in people having COVID screening because they have "COVID symptoms" - headaches, cough, watering or gummy eyes and sneezing...one South African guy I know has had now 2 tests recently because of it
As I type this, my laptop is covered in a fine powder of wattle. It's getting in everywhere. I'll have to hose down the fly screens tomorrow.
