M17

The Swan (or Omega) Nebula M17 is a great target for the ED80 at F7.5 600mm Focal length. Taken on a HEQ5 pro with ASI 533 MCpro. I did 150 x 240sec.

I processed in Pixinsight and photoshop. I'm slowly getting my guiding sorted on the new mount (tightened the backlash on both axis). Not 100% happy yet but ordered an OAG which also may help. I have a belt mod kit ready and waiting as my last line of defense! I only put a Astro tech Flattener and not a reducer because I wanted to get close. That means I need to guide at 0.56 RMS on average! Ill add some Sii to this image to tease out the detail more.

Hi Paul

Not a bad effort however IMO you need to re process.

Most of the stars have rings probably from the sharpening or deconvolution.

Well done

Hi Paul.

Quite an improvement in your processing.

Still artefacts visible.

Getting better!
