Suburban Nova

I have been following RS Oph over the last couple of nights.
Easily seen in binoculars.

Took this image (many subs given my location).
Still amazed at what you can capture from Suburban Sydney with a DSLR.

Any idea what visual magnitude it is tonight Richard? I can see a faint star with the naked eye where you show it is.

Mike, I'm not skilled at this but comparing it with nearby stars I thought it was around magnitude 6.3.

Richard.

Ok cheers Richard, sounds about right, given the star I could see at the location your finder circle indicated, was near my visible limit, so I was thinking 6.5ish..? Given I can juuust make out the mag 6.75 star inside the coal sack, which is sprobably "my" naked eye limit? Younger eyes, without glasses, should be able to crack Mag 7 here for sure.

Cheers

Mike
